
What We Learned from Trading Standards
This week we were joined by Trading Standards for a drop‑in information session, and it turned out to be one of the most valuable conversations we’ve had in a while. Scams are becoming more sophisticated, more frequent, and unfortunately more convincing — so having an expert walk us through the latest tactics and how to protect ourselves was incredibly worthwhile.
Why the session mattered
Scammers aren’t just sending suspicious emails anymore. They’re calling, texting, impersonating delivery companies, banks, government departments, and even friends or family. Trading Standards highlighted just how quickly these scams evolve and how easy it can be to get caught out, even when you think you’re being careful.
The session gave us practical tools to stay alert, confident, and informed.
