Crampi Italian Food and Wine
A bit of a back story if you’ll forgive the indulgence.
About a year ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
In January 2024 I had surgery. Then, in July, after turning 56 (I know, I don’t look it….) I handed in my notice and quit my job at BMW UK on September 1st, after 10 years.
I’d decided to do something I’d had a burning desire to do for years, to open a small Italian food and wine store. I didn’t want to look back in five years time and regret not doing it. Life is too short and all that.
So here I am, just two weeks after gaining access to the shop (courtesy of the Sourdough Revolution family), and still working hard to get it looking as beautiful as I can, inside and out, and to fill it with lots of delicious Italian products for you to discover and enjoy. I really hope you like what you see so far!
Rest assured, Sourdough Revolution products will be a mainstay of the shop going forward, just as the Italian table is never without bread. You may have noticed this is writ large on the window, and it (the bread) will take its regular and familiar place at the front of the shop, just as soon as possible.
I hope Crampi Italian Food & Wine will be fully open at the end of this month, and whilst there will be days when I can offer bread for sale before this, there may also be days during the setting up when its not possible. For this I apologise in advance, and thank you for your patience during this time.
In the meantime, please feel free to stick your head around the door and say hello if you see me in the shop, or tap on the window and i’ll show you how things are coming along.

It is open for all, it is set in a non judgmental environment with people at different stages of dementia, they have live music to start with some people even get up and dance whilst others sit back and enjoy, this is followed by a light buffet lunch where people chat, compare experiences, and form new friendships, they are also able to provide this free of charge due to the amazing support from our local businesses and the lions club please find them on Facebook.
