Volunteering in Lechlade Community Library
Would you like to Volunteer in Lechlade Community Library?
Would you like to join our friendly group of Volunteers?
Do you enjoy helping people?
As Volunteers, we prepare the Library and computers 15 minutes before opening time. We issue and return books, assist with photocopying and printing. We advise visitors about local attractions and tourist information. Alongside many other interesting roles.
You may choose which day of the week suits you best. A regular shift is 3 hours (on your chosen day) every other week. Don’t worry about any days you can’t make, I coordinate the rosters to fill these gaps. Or if you prefer, you may Volunteer on an ad hoc basis; filling gaps in the Rota as and when you are able.
Our opening times are:
Day | Hours |
Monday | 1300 – 1600 |
Tuesday | 1000 – 1300 |
Wednesday | 1000 – 1900 |
Thursday | 1000 – 1300 |
Friday | 1300 – 1600 |
Saturday | 1000 – 1300 |
If you are interested, pop into the Library to fill in an application form, or email Volunteer Coordinator, via info@lechladelibrary.co.uk I can arrange a visit around our Library to discuss the role and to answer any questions you may have.
You will need to sign a Data Protection Form and be ok with having a DBS check carried out.
We provide all the training necessary and you also learn by working with experienced Volunteers. We look forward to meeting you, either as part of our team of Volunteers or as a Visitor to our Community Library.
Duke of Edinburgh scheme
From time to time we are able to accept Duke of Edinburgh Students as Volunteers. Please call into the library to see what vacancies are available. Or email Volunteer Coordinator via info@lechladelibrary.co.uk
