Friends of Lechlade Community Library are the life blood of the library.
Our grant from Gloucestershire County Council is £10000 per annum, less than £1000 per month. That has to support all the infrastructure inside including lighting, heating, insurance, equipment and maintenance. Also fund the purchase of books for both adults and children, supporting activities in the library for children, providing computer access, printing/copying and providing an Information Centre for visitors and community alike.
That means that our finances are stretched and any additional funding is welcome.
Those who become Friends of the library do exactly that by supporting the library with a Standing Order of a minimum £10 per annum or more. The more Friends who join us, the better we can continue all activities.
Your help therefore is most welcome and will help this community run library with volunteers, who give of their time free, to continue with a positive outlook for the future.
If you therefore feel that you would like to be a Friend you can do this in two ways.
(a) Pop into the library and complete a Friends form that will contain your bank details and your decision on donation. This will include Gift Aid if you are a tax payer.
(b) Set up a Standing Order to Lechlade Library Ltd, contact us for the bank transfer details.
