Natural Dyeing Workshop with Kate Turnbull

26 May 2026 – 10:30 am – 4:30 pm

Join us for a Natural Dyeing workshop at Kelmscott Manor.

Join botanical dyer Kate Turnbull from the Secret Dyery to learn the art of natural dyeing, colour extraction and hue modification. You will take inspiration from Kelmscott Manor’s extraordinary 17th century tapestries and breathe new life into the their historic colours using plants familiar to the original dyers – weld for luminous yellows, indigo and woad for a spectrum of blues, and walnut husks for soft browns.

Together, you will explore the subtle science of mordanting, layering, and over-dyeing to recreate the shades of the tapestries on wool threads and fabrics. This is more than a workshop: it’s a journey into the craft, colour, and creativity of the past, offering a chance to connect with centuries-old techniques and leave with beautifully dyed materials and your own fragments of history.

FAIRFORD FESTIVAL 2026

Save the date for this year’s Fairford Festival taking place over the weekend of Friday to Sunday June 5-7 in the grounds of Fairford Cricket Club.

Fairford Festival

New for this year is Primary School Bangers – think a mini-Glastonbury with ‘banging tunes’ that we all know and love from primary school assemblies. Favourite tunes that everyone can sing along to such as ‘He’s Got the Whole World’, ‘Give Me Oil In My Lamp’ and more!

There’s no specific theme this year, but you can still look forward to the same exciting events and amazing activities that are great crowd-pleasers year-on-year.

• Bat walk around Fairford

• Fairford History Society exhibition

• Wine Tasting Evening

• Live music, children’s disco and a silent disco

• Festival Parade

• Children’s activities in the Children’s Marquee

• Children’s Colour Run

• Festival Dog Show

• Sunday Festival Market

• Festival Quiz

Food stalls and a licensed bar with a selection of real ales will be available over the whole weekend.

Highworth

The 2026 Highworth Jazz Festival lineup is officially LIVE… and this year is shaping up to be one of our most exciting yet.

We’ve curated a programme packed with new talent, international artists, and returning festival favourites who helped make the last two years unforgettable.

Just to name a few, we have:

Snowboy & The Latin Section – Europe’s leading Afro Cuban Jazz group, and one of the most dynamic live acts touring today. This is the first time we’ve ever featured Latin Jazz at the festival.

The Marcia Bamberg Quartet – A breathtaking international vocalist bringing world class gypsy jazz to Highworth. Featuring some of Europe’s finest gypsy jazz players, this group is a standout addition to any lineup.

Ray Gelato Swing Quartet — Our 2026 Festival Closer. An absolute icon in his own right, known as the “Godfather of Swing.” Expect a high energy performance blending swing, jump blues, and classic jazz, Ray is the perfect finale to this year’s festival.

And of course we have… returning favourites! We’re thrilled to welcome back several incredible artists — including the exceptional Vimala Rowe, whose performance at the Wine Bar was a definite highlight.

Over 15 performers. One amazing town. One unforgettable day.

Tickets are available online now through our website and bio. Any further enquiries, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Its set to be a special event so we recommend getting your tickets as early as possible!

On Wednesday 17th of June, the company will role into town and build their stage for King Arthur and the Holy Fail. Expect daring quests, dashing knights, endless jousting and fabulous music. Laugh until your sides hurt at a family friendly, slightly dubious account of Arthurian tales.
