Lechlade Library Opening Times
The Library is open on the following days:

If we have to close on any of these days a notice will be put on the door.
Bank Holiday Closures
Please use our letter box slide to return books during any time we are closed.
We are closed for Easter starting on the 18th April, Good Friday, and we reopen on Tuesday 22nd April.
Other Bank Holidays we are closed are; Monday 5th May, Monday 26th May and Monday 25th August.
We are then closed from and including Thursday 25th December for Christmas and we reopen on and including Friday 2nd January at 10am.
We are open on Christmas Eve which is Wednesday 24th December so do pop in and take out some books for the Christmas Holidays.
Joining
Adults – Can join online either via this link, “Join Now!!!!”
or at the library.
If you join at the library we can issue you with your card straight away. A form of photo ID and a recent bill to prove your home address will be required.

Many of our services can be accessed online from the comfort of your own home by using the Gloucestershire Libraries App, and Borrowbox App.
The Gloucestershire Library App enables existing and new customers to use their smart phones and tablets to search the library catalogue, reserve books, check events and explore eBooks, eAudio books and eMagazines online wherever they are.


Download the SmartPhone library app. It can be downloaded via Gloucestershire Libraries homepage or by searching for Gloucestershire Libraries in the App Store.
Visitors – Can get a temporary Library Card for 90 days but must prove that they belong to their local library through proof of a current Library Card. Proof of use will be requested.
Computer use. We do not charge for use. If you are a Gloucestershire Library member then come in and use your Membership Card details to log on. You will be required to tick and agree to the Data Protection policy used on the computer network. If you are not a Library Member please speak with our Volunteers who will help set you up on the computer. ID and proof of your home address will be required.
Children – If the parent is a member and willing to act as guarantor for the child (pay fines on late items etc) then simply bring in the parent’s library card and give us the child’s name and date of birth. We can open an account in the child’s name straight away. Where children are staying with separated parents, each parent can act as Guarantor and the child can be issued with 2 cards.
Micro:Bit
The BBC Micro:bit is here.
If children would like to learn how to program a computer come in and learn how to use Micro:bit.
We will give you some ideas how to get started and you can loan a Micro:bit for 3 weeks the same way as you loan a book.Children need to be a Library member.
If you aren’t a member already join on line or at the Library.
You will need an Adult as a guarantor. You can use your BBC Micro:bit for all sorts of cool creations, from robots to musical instruments – the possibilities are endless.
Library Charges
Replacement membership cards:
Adults (over 18’s) £1,
children 50p.

Late Returns
Book loans are up to 3 weeks. If requested the loan can be extended.
Thereafter Adult fines are 25p per day charged every day of the week. Maximum charge per item £12.
Children’s up to 18 years.
No charge.

Ask Us Facility
Gloucestershire Libraries have an online subscription to Which? and this is accessible via Gloucester and Cheltenham Libraries.
Ask Us are also able to send information from Which? (including Which? Best Buys and relevant advice guides) via email to our customers.
If a customer would like us to carry out a search on Which? on their behalf, then we would just need to know the products/appliances they are interested in and we can get started on this for them.
